Dodge and Burn by Angieq

Safe dodge & burn for Photoshop.
Simple, easy...
Create new layer, fill with white. Helps to name your layers of course.. For burn I use "Multiply" and I change the "Layer Mode" (Green Arrow) to Multiply as well. I paint my darkened areas using like 10% opacity in black.

Create another layer, fill with black. This is our "Color Dodge", changing the layer mode as well and then I can paint using white, set it about the same opacity.

Gimp version.
Same exact trick.. Red Arrow..!

Paint.net version
Pink Arrow, brings up the layer properties. Here we can control multiply & color dodge.

Simple safe dodge & burn, very handy for making jeans along with various other shading you may want to safely place away and use again and again and again...!

As you change each layers properties or mode the white & black layers appear opaque.

Background Removal by Agent_Superkitty

In this tutorial I used:
- AA´s Assistant
- Grim Color Reaper

Most of the times you will have to use the Magic Wand:

But sometimes is possible to use Grim Color Reaper and do all in only one step:

Just to show you how useful it can be for making sale posters too:

Folds by Agent_Superkitty

This is a very easy method to add folds to your plain texture .

You will need following plugin for this:

- Black and Alpha

If you also want to adjust the look of your fabric, according to the folds, you will need:

- Alpha Displacement

AA's Assistant by Agent_Superkitty

Have you noticed when you cut out pieces from your design you will get bad rugged looking edges?

One easy way to get nice smooth edges is run AA´s Assistant on default settings.

TWINKLE / SPARKLE by Agent_Superkitty

This tutorial needs from extra plugins only Fragment Blur which is part of Ed Harvey´s Effects pack and can be found HERE.

Polar Transformation by Agnet_Superkitty

If you saw how I used Polar Transformation to make a circular detail from a rectangle here is a quick tip how the same method can be useful for hair designers for doing a hair shape for buns.

If you have a piece of folded fabric you can try Polar transformation like that, you can see the original piece in the small window on left:

If you want a bit softer look just apply some blur and stretch and delete depending on what you need

Cookies by Agent_Superkitty

Last year I baked cookies for people who help us raise money for charity, this year people were missing my cookies so I offered to send out appreciation cookies for designers if someone requests.

But I thought maybe you wanna try and make your own cookies too! So I made this tutorial for Paint.net.
As far as decorating goes, I offer one option but you can do it any way you wish, there are thousands of possibilites .

If you miss any plugins I used in tutorial you can find them HERE.

We will be making something like this:

PART ONE -

Making the cookie base

PART TWO -

one possibility to decorate your cookie
